Minerva Photography Archive comprises photographic negatives realised by reporters of communist newspapers from Cluj-Napoca, Igaszàg and Făclia, between 1965 and 1993. Over 50.000 negatives in medium format constitutes an important image bank for studying the mechanisms of propaganda methods in the past regime, being used for a nuanced analysis of Romanian society phenomena in communist period, as forced industrialisation and agricultural work.

Author’s films realised by the Romanian artist Ion Grigorescu in the ’70s, followed by a discussion with Matei Bejenaru and Cristian Nae.

Realised in secrecy in the communist period, the experimental films on Super8 pellicle are documents of everyday life in Bucharest, four decades ago, and represents a symbol of intellectual resistance in a difficult historical period.
